Given the changing role of the Diaspora in the affairs of Dominica, this
very important constituency cannot be ignored. As such the DAIC will act as
a catalyst to actively engage and encourage active involvement of the
diaspora in the economic, social and cultural development of Dominica. To
this end we will endeavour to create an atmosphere where the following can
be achieved.
A greater emphasis on securing both the financial and human resources that
are available from the Diaspora.
Increased levels of savings in local banking institutions through organized
targeted marketing and added incentives for the building of homes on Island.
Credible investment schemes should be floated to the Diaspora and pertinent
structures and incentives developed to encourage invenstment in Dominica and
joint venture with locals.
As such the DAIC has appointed one member to liaise with the diaspora so as
to ensure ongoing communication and promotion of relevant projects with the
